Broad spectrum benzimidazole anthelmintic with a wide safety margin for use in horses. Oxfendazole interferes with the metabolic pathways of intestinal parasites and sterilises worm eggs within 24 hours of dosing, thus reducing contamination. Controls large roundworm (adult and immature forms of Parascaris equorum), pinworm (Oxyuris equi), adult small stomach worm (Trichostrongylus axei), large stomach worm (Habronema microstoma) and susceptible small strongyles. Kills immature and adult stages of large strongyles (bloodworms) in the intestines. Kills the tissue stages of Strongylus edentatus and aids in the control of the migrating stages of the Strongylus vulgaris with a corresponding reduction in arterial lesions. A reduction in the prevalence of associated colic could be expected. Not for use in foals under six weekes of age.
